Gambling Support Service Project Worker


Salary:             £24,500 per annum

Pension:         The charity operates an Auto Enrolment pension scheme. After six full months                                 employment you are entitled to join the Citizens Advice Hampshire pension                                       scheme and if you join the charity will contribute 5% of your basic salary and you                             will contribute 3%

Hours:             37.5 hours per week (some flexibility is required for occasional evening/weekend                              work)

Holidays:        20 days per annum plus Bank Holidays and fixed days

Location:        Citizens Advice Hampshire (the post holder will be expected to travel to partner                                agencies throughout Hampshire, Sussex and Kent)

Duration:        Fixed term contract until 31st March 2021.

The Gambling Support Service (GSS) is a harm-minimisation project focused on promoting public education and awareness to reduce the impact of gambling-related harm (GRH) in vulnerable individuals. The project embeds a public health approach, supporting frontline professionals who deliver a range of public services to develop capacity and capability to identify and support people at risk of gambling related harm.

 

Role Purpose

  • To provide face-face and online training; workshops and events for frontline staff (within the Citizens Advice network, and wider) and increasing capacity for identification of gambling related harm
  • To raise awareness of gambling related harm to service users and providers
  • To screen, identify and offer advice, information and support for anyone at risk of gambling related harm
