Home and Well Adviser
Hours: 37.5 hrs/ week
Location: Flexible (home/office) with some on-site working within a hospital setting
Are you passionate about helping vulnerable people – especially those in poor health – access the support they need?
Home and Well is a project developed by Citizens Advice Hampshire, in partnership with a range of other agencies, and has been running successfully over the last year. Building on this success, we’re now recruiting a Home and Well Adviser, to develop this service within Winchester District.
The aim is to support patients awaiting discharge within a hospital and/or in clinical environment with any advice needs that may be affecting them (and their health recovery). These might include ensuring their home environment is warm and safe, that they can access any appropriate benefits or support, and so on.
The role will also support people with Priority Services Registration, providing initial financial assessments, introducing them to utility company payment schemes, giving fuel poverty advice, and related support.
You will have excellent communication and IT skills, be able to collate statistics, manage your targets and develop working relationships effectively.
Full training will be provided for the right candidate, so prior experience of advice giving or Citizens Advice is not essential.
